Social Unit 5: Introducing Cultural Diversity And Movement Through Food
We all learn from interacting with other cultures. This Unit is based in a food hall to illustrate the diversity and choice cultural movement brings to society. The wide variety of food available in a country is just one of the examples of cultural movement.

Social Unit 6: Retaining One’s Own Culture And Heritage
Tradition and heritage are important values for many people. Just how important they are is illustrated in this Unit by way of a description of an annual family celebration and the efforts that are made to hold the annual celebration and to record their family history.

Social Unit 7: Changing The Lives Of Others
Often the actions of others, positive or negative, have a lasting effect on society. This Unit looks at how one individual's actions had such a lasting effect on another individual's life.

Social Unit 8: Different People’s Reactions At A Funeral
In this Unit learners discuss the funeral of a close friend and the different memories they have of her. The funeral is used to illustrate how events can affect people differently.

Social Unit 9: People Interacting With The Environment
Students can gain an understanding of history by studying man's past interactions with the environment. This Unit uses a museum curator and other museum voices to explain some of these past interactions and the effect they have had on the environment.

Social Unit 10: Learning About Other Places
How do we find out about other places and the environment? One way is to go and live there. In this Unit friends at school discuss a pending exchange trip one of them is about to undertake. This leads to more discussion about how people find out about other places.

Social Unit 11: People’s Different Reactions To Land
Resources can be used and viewed quite differently from individual to individual. This Unit uses the resource of land to illustrate how differently people can react to a resource and its importance.

Social Unit 12: Significance of particular places and environments for people
Particular places and environments are significant to people for many differing reasons. This Unit uses the potential sale of a piece of land to introduce people's differing attitudes and view points.
